I made this for a party, so you'll have to excuse the crude arrangement for the photo.
If you're fancy enough to have saffron lying around then omit the turmeric and use a suitable amount of saffron instead. The turmeric is good enough and putting it in at the frying stage helps prevent it from affecting the taste of the dish.
The leftovers were also good for re-frying the next day - be sure to follow safe rice preparation and storage techniques.
