Baked Sweet Potato Fries

Sweet potato fries: sweeter and more nutritious than their potato siblings. Can be made gluten-free if you substitute the soy sauce.

  • 1100g sweet potato
  • 35g sunflower oil
  • 5g sesame oil, raw
  • 5g reduced salt soy sauce
  • 10g lime juice
  • 80g chickpea flour (gram flour/besan)


  1. Peel and chip the sweet potatoes into fries
  2. Make a batter from the remaining ingredients
  3. Boil the fries in water for 8 minutes
  4. Toss the fries in the batter
  5. Bake for up to 15 minutes at 200°C (180°C fan assisted) - until crispy and cooked through
